My first Buck
« on: December 13, 2011, 10:32:45 AM »
Shot my first buck with any weapon on opening day of late archery season.

Started out with a 5x5 & forky walking thru camp as i looked out cabin window...Went out in general direction that the 5x5 went with no luck...As i hunted my way to treestand for the last few hours I spotted this nice 3x3 w/ a few does...

Got to the stand & stayed alert for what seemed like for hours but actually was 45 min -1 hour when I spotted some does & this 3x3 pop out, he separated away with one doe 20 yards in front of my stand she was broadside & he was nervously feeding towards me, then he turned broadside, as I drew back he cautiously raised his head then went back to feeding, I settled my pin, SHHHWWWAAACK.........Thru & Thru heart shot.......

After the shot I watched him run maybe 20 yards and drop....At which I checked the clock 3:43 pm, waited about 20-30min climbed down and found him....waited for my buddy to get back as it was cold enough to wait another few minutes...Unfortunatly my camera started to go out so I only got a few good pictures and I wasnt in any but here are a few that came out.
