Sounds like a great Loop Hole to me. I'd like to hear it from a warden.

Same here.  I've talked to WDFW about this subject and it is touchy for everyone.  The impression I got is that you could still get ticketed for killing a bear over a deer baiting sight.  I don't know, I think it's a bit vague all around which could cause a warden to give you a ticket for something that is not explicitly illegal or cause you to get off for doing something that is vaguely illegal.  Its a fine line to walk.

Maybe we could get a warden on here to answer questions like the WDFW guy did about the draw? Are there any wardens on this site or does anyone know one? I want to find one to clarify a few things.

I was talking to my gammie uncle about this on sat. at a family function. He said that its perfectly legal to bait "Deer and Elk" but you couldn't help it if a bear came in  :chuckle:. Be advised we were drinking too   :tung:: It's still a gray area and must be approached with caution. I would be careful how you do this. I think it's perfectly legal to quit baiting "deer" prior to the bear hunt. Who says you can prepare for more than one species in a given area?
