Father issued terminally ill tag for units 245 246 247 250 and 290. Any date

My father who has liver cancer was recently issued a terminally ill special permit for the above units any date, any weapon. Every year we hunt the general rifle entiat season and had planned on skipping that this year for the unit 290 (desert unit). Long story short after hunting the desert for a couple of days he found it to dificult to a manuever the sandy terrain do to his declining health. So we decided to skip that and hunt the entiat in the rut for the first time, where we will be able to drive in deeper than we could with the desert unit.  My question is while I have done a fair amount of research regarding other areas I have not hunted them. I am wondering maybe if one of the others units mentioned would give him a better chance at a large buck. This will be his last season and I am really hoping to send him out happy on his last hunting trip. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I have nothing to offer you regarding these areas for hunting, but I do wish you and your father great memories in the deer woods that will stay with your family for generations to come. Have a great hunt with the precious time you have left. Tell your father hello and Good Luck from us.

Sorry to hear of bad news on health.  For access and ability to see alot from the road I would say Entiat.  It is starting to snow so bring the chains.  Not sure if manuevering in the snow will be any easier than the sand.  Good luck and I hope you make some great memories.

I would stay with Entiat look more towards the Crumb Canyon and Oklahoma Gulch area. Both produce fine bucks and are easily accessed.

Just curious- how do you go about getting one of these tags? I have never heard of such a thing. Good luck on the hunt- I hope it works out well for you and your dad.

Me neither. Also the dudes first post. Think well hear back from him? Smells of to me.  I lost a relative to liver.cancer this year and by the time it was terminal she would have been in no ability to hunt. I would guess this is a I didnt scout enough type of post.
