New to trapping

When I say new, I mean brand new. I am planning to go to cashmere for the class in June in order to be able to get my license. Until then I am trying to get all the gear I am needing in order to start. I am not looking for any handouts, just some pointers on what to get and where to go to get it. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

Thanks for the sites MACHIAS. Good stuff at some of them. What would be a good general sized trap to start with? I am looking to start trapping coyote and some bobcat...Not sure what size to get though. I appreciate the help!

Unless you can trap on a reservation I would ask you to give up any ideas of trapping coyotes. Trapping coyotes with the traps we are allowed to use will lead to nothing but frustration.

Think cat! 14"x 21"x 42" would be my ideal size bobcat trap. You can purchase good lure to help draw them in. I would look at Gusto! get a few colony traps for muskrat and you will have an endless supply of bait for your cages. Wish I could come down to your rondevue! I grew up going to them for over a decade. There use to be some good ones. Best I ever went to was on the Yakima Reservation. They brought in a whole elk and cooked it in cast pots under the fire!
