Sure!  The course title can be "Dumb Luck 101".   Only got one more small one since then. We need another good, hard rain.

Hey Fatslinger, I just dicovered this site yesterday. Read your post and saw your set was just what I needed to use at a spot where I'm tasked with removeing some beaver but because its a heavily used park with lotsa people/dogs could not use my suitcase traps and no location for a swim through. Set it up yesterday and caught a big beaver last night. Only problem is he removed the door and let himself out. I'll get him again, the main thing is I'm sold on your set. 37 years of trapping and I'm still learnin!
P.S. You are shanghied for Cashmere.

Finally put out 2 traps on a property in Maytown and the next morning I had a small beaver. It builds confidence to catch one on the first night. Good thing it was a small one, too.  I think I'm the slowest skinner/flesher in the world. I hope the picture comes through.....I've  been tryin to figure this cellphone camera thing out all day.
Dang  I can't see the pic I to got a first for the season

Note to self: Don't pack beaver traps 1/2 mile through the brush and set up.

You know, those suckers don't have antlers. Big round ball of nothing to hold onto.  Think I'll go move them closer to the road.

Not to steal the thread but I carry a piece of rope, slip knot on each end. One on front leg one on back and sling beaver over my shoulder. If you're lucky and tough you can hook two beaver together and put over the shoulder. It's a load!

Hey SunnySlopes,  This must be a bad week for Hav-A-Harts.  I had the same thing happen to me. I had a beaver in the trap, but the door (and the beaver) was missing in the morning.  All he left was a pile of crap in my trap.  Fortunately I was able to fish around,  find the missing door, and repair the trap.   Now there is an educated beaver in T-9-0.

Bummer. Yeah mine took hold of the upper corner of the door and in a workman type fashion popped the six clipps across the top. Easily repaired. When I have time I will put a 2" piece of sheet metal along the top of the door to keep Beav from grabbing it with his teeth. I like those traps. Mine are acually another brand. The last one I bought has a sheet metal door instead of wire. I don't like it as well because it doesn't trip as quick when set underwater for beaver/otter as the wire door.
I'll make a couple of your sets at end of shift today. I think by using different location, and or different castor recipe these Houdinis are recatchable.
