There isn't any good hunting in Enumclaw or Buckley really. thats why I won't be hunting much this year.  your closest 'good' hunting is about 120  minutes away. although you can pick any direction you want, drive about 2hrs, and you'll be in heaven. north, south, or east.

Very few spots in Enumclaw to hunt. A lot of it is private and very few of the farms will let you hunt.

if that is true about bass lake that's some BS  :yike: it was huntable last season. I grew up hunting that lake.

i havent been to the launch yet i went out to kapowsin today and got soaked and didnt get a single bird i walked
the railroad tracks and found a trail to the edge of the lake and waited there for 5 hours didnt have any ducks fly
over but there were two ducks feeding on the others side of the lake.

both of those lakes are going to give you hell without a boat. a hybrid or marshrat would be best at the K. Bass lake really isn't good for anything except playing with decoys anyways, but sometimes thats all you really want lol

not local/public. knock on some farmers doors though, you may find some corn fields worth your while.

.... iv never had a problem in enumclaw hunting all the years i have out here in the fields...

P.s.... bass lake has no more duck blinds, so boat is the best for ya to hunt in out there.
Boom boom boom...

I prefer skies black with birds, and limit hunting.  there are 'birds', but in comparison to other places, not many.

agreed... Not a whole lot of birds in Enumclaw, and I wouldn't eat anything from Buckley.... It's Buckley, after all.

...Explains why you tried to hike into Bass Lake....

The timber lands have some hike-in only areas that hold a few ponds.  You may try your luck there.

Make sure you are in area that authorizes hike-in though.... The Kapowsin unit doesn't allow anything without a permit if memory serves.

try thr river down green valley and knock on some doors, or the river bottom along the white has some beaver ponds that holds birds... But a boat and some decoys it a great tool... When everything freezes up the creeks and rivers are great hunting... And contrary to what others have said on here there are lots of birds around there and i have shot far more limits around enumclaw than anywhere else...
