After a long stressful year this guy made it easy!
« on: November 19, 2011, 02:03:15 PM »
So after spending most of my year in and out of the hospital's and doctor's offices this year I was fianlly healed enough to go do what I love doing the most. My dad and I went for a morning hunt before work and hiked around in one of our spots all morning and decided it was getting late so we went back to the truck. My dad decided that he wanted to show me one last spot that he had got a deer the year before. Once we drove to that spot we headed for home. Low and behold about 300 yards from the black top on the main logging rode there he stood! about 15 yards off the dirt road broadside looking at us like we didnt see him. Jumped out of the truck untangled my bino's from scope, threw 4 of the 5 bullets in my hand back into the truck, tried to put a bullet in the chamber but the bolt slid closed! opended the bolt threw the bullet in (Truck pulling up behind us at that point) closed the bolt and pulled the trigger! Dropped in his tracks! All that rustling around to get ready to shoot and the entire time the buck just stood there watching me. Could'nt have made it any easier for me this year. Oh and made it to work on time LOL!

Nice buck!

Not saying that you did, its just the story makes it sound like you shot it while standing on the road and I was wondering what the law says.

Pretty deer though, and no I am not the orange police I dont care if you did or did not shoot it from the road just wondering what the law states.

Christ... most logging roads on the west side are private property. a private road can be shot from legally.

Congrats on the Buck!
some people cant leave well enough alone...

Yeah no reason to get off topic or make a big deal about it here. Fact is thats a fat little buck! Hope I can connect in the next few weeks, I would be shooting if I see one like that.
