Last day buck NE (113)

I drilled this fella this morning. I paid the price for him but it was well worth it. Had to drag him out nearly 3/4 of mile in 15" of snow by myself! My best whitetail by far
so I'm not complaining!

Yeah it sure was! On one hand walking through that much snow sucked but on the other hand it sure was nice because he actually was a little easier to drag!

Nicely done and good job! I was up there Friday and Saturday with over 24 hours of straight snow and 15 degrees I was loving it. Was not hunting just getting a fix. Congrats!

Yeah bone he definitely had that with the acorn tip on his G2 right side and the right eye guard was the bonus. It's funny when you look straight at it you see nothing but turn to the side and it basically looks exactly like a crab claw.

Just curious, was this buck crossing behind you and fell just below the lip of a logging road? I happened upon some tracks and a gut pile and I'm trying to figure out what deer went with it. Gut pile was 10 feet down over the side of the road.

Yes, I realize its a needle-in-haystack sort of thing, but I spent that last week alone up in 113 and was onto one particular deer for several days, (I suspected he was a nice one, though I'd never quite caught a glimpse of him, he was a snorter and always JUST on the other side of a fringe of trees usually)....on the last day I was down in a creek bed at the bottom of a big clearcut slope and heard a shot above me. By the time I crossed the creek and slogged up though 15" of snow, all that remained were tracks and blood and a skid trail. The man tracks had been headed up the logging road and then suddenly stopped before even getting into the prime trees and I wondered what the heck, this guy just got tired and gave up his slog. But then when heading down the road I saw where he had shot the deer maybe 50 yds behind him. This was approximately 3/4 of a mile up the gated road, so I was just wondering if this beautiful buck was the one I was chasing. There are not THAT many bucks taken on the last day in 113, so I thought I'd give this a try. One of the wonders of the internet, making it possible to find that "needle in a haystack".
Whether it was the buck I was chasing for several days or not, I congratulate you on a fine animal. And if it IS the buck I was chasing (hint: bridge), then I'm glad someone got him and glad I wasn't just wasting my time.
Thanks everyone!
