Yes, I realize its a needle-in-haystack sort of thing, but I spent that last week alone up in 113 and was onto one particular deer for several days, (I suspected he was a nice one, though I'd never quite caught a glimpse of him, he was a snorter and always JUST on the other side of a fringe of trees usually)....on the last day I was down in a creek bed at the bottom of a big clearcut slope and heard a shot above me.  By the time I crossed the creek and slogged up though 15" of snow, all that remained were tracks and blood and a skid trail.  The man tracks had been headed up the logging road and then suddenly stopped before even getting into the prime trees and I wondered what the heck, this guy just got tired and gave up his slog.  But then when heading down the road I saw where he had shot the deer maybe 50 yds behind him.  This was approximately 3/4 of a mile up the gated road, so I was just wondering if this beautiful buck was the one I was chasing.  There are not THAT many bucks taken on the last day in 113, so I thought I'd give this a try.  One of the wonders of the internet, making it possible to find that "needle in a haystack".

Whether it was the buck I was chasing for several days or not, I congratulate you on a fine animal.  And if it IS the buck I was chasing (hint: bridge), then I'm glad someone got him and glad I wasn't just wasting my time.
Thanks everyone!
