Really was only one guy in town that was world class... that was Scott at Custom wildlife art..hes no longer doing work. He was an innovator and world champion at his work. I have only found 1 guy in spokane that has the detail and time put into his work that I would take anything to and thats Sylvester in the valley. Other than that I go to Dumont in Libby, MT

Huntnnw I will not disagree with you there, Scott did some great work. My muley from 2004 and my dads bull from 2005 that I just posted on here was done by him and they are fantastic. The only problem with him I had is it took me 3 years to get my mount back and my dads bull took almost 5. He is a super nice guy and all but the business people side of it definitely needed some work.

Obviously I'm a little late, but Josh's Taxidermy out Kettle Falls does good work.  I know its a little farther north than Spokan but closer then where I'm from and I drove a lion from Longview all the way over to him, then picked it up with a Uhaul a drove it back finished.  Although seeing some of FS Taxidermy work on cats here on the westside, I'm liking what I see.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

Why not?

WTH is an aftermarket septum?  We mount dead animals we don't work on cars.

All those world class taxidermists out there that tan their own hides and cast their own septums with dental acrylic etc. must be terrible.  Good thing there are aftermarket parts for those that like to plug and play or snap together

Scott from custom wildlife art was a master, of that there is no doubt, but yeah his turn around time was rough for sure.  But it was without a doubt, artwork.  Jeff Sylvester does real nice work here in Spokane as well, he's done a few europeans for me and I have looked at stuff in his shop and it's real clean work.  You mught talk to bucklucky here on the website, I think he occasionally comes through Spokane and may be able to work something out with you.  His work is beautiful as well.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

I have a shoulder mount done by Scott. Its is good work but as stated he is slow. Over 18 months and that was cause I was over checking often. He won the cover of Mckenzie and he copped an attitude about his work.   :twocents:

I know there is a tannery in Kettle Falls and he gets alot of hides from alot of taxidermists. You wouldn't even know it was there if you drove past his business.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

i had a muley done at Knopp in spokane and it looks like *censored*! if i would have known better i would never have walked out with the mount (first mount and i was young). i will never go back there, you can see the skull plate around the antler bases and there is no nostrils. they are full of clay. the seem is very visible down the back of neck also.
i really like the whitetail and bear rug that jeremy did though. whitey is an early season buck and no seems are visible, i think the nose and eyes look real good too.
