I bought some pee pee
« on: November 20, 2011, 04:01:11 PM »
Well I decided to try some blacktail deer pee for late archery season.  I got some buck and doe in heat.  Rut might be winding down by then Im not sure.  Do any of you guys use pee?  How do you use it and how much, if any, do you think it helps?  Anyone think it hurts a hunt?

Never used it myself. I hear that two shots in the morning and two shots in the evening work well. I could never swallow the stuff myself. :) Good luck on the hunt.

I hear the trick is to take it with food :dunno:

I've used it quite a bit and have seen deer follow my scent drag right to my stand.

I bought some of the scent wicks and hang them on a branch and put a lot of scent on the wick. I started putting out the scents last weekend and will continue through the late archery season. I've spoken with a few guys who keep good tabs on the BT rut and it should be good through late archery.

It is extremely effective for blacktail all the way up through the first week of December. They are alot more curious than any other deer. Good luck and be ready. I've had deer respond within five minutes of putting it out.

I will actually soak a couple heavy pieces of fabric and tie them to my boots.... It is very effective for BT deer.

Thanks guys.  I have always just walked into the wind and hoped to run into something.  :chuckle:  I will try making drags with the pee from multiple directions and then set up looking over the intersection.

That is a nice collection of scents.  Do you hunt blacktails and have you noticed that some of those non-blacktail scents work?

I'll tie a tampon to my boots then soak it and it drag behind me a few inches.

Tampons come in real handy for this. Use the string to tie it to a limb, then apply the pee.
Pretty handy except when your buddies ask you why you have tampons in your pocket.... :chuckle:
