Finally bucks started showing
« on: November 20, 2011, 04:01:48 PM »
I've been watching this spot all fall knowing that there had to be bucks in the area even though I hadnt laid eyes on them. I have a stand set up just to the right of the shot and I counted seven different trails that X within 25 yards of my stand.

Also had this guy show up and had a couple different does. All in all 3 different bucks, 2 different does a coyote and a bobby in a 6 day soak.

I was wondering how things were goin for you so far, from the sounds of it you put alot of work into this spot.
Hope you get a shot at the buck during late archery! looks like he might make pope and young

Thanks Deerslyr, I've got this spot and three other spots that could produce bucks. Some are harder to get to than others so I think time will be my decision making factor. I have stands ranging from 2,100ft to about 600ft. I just want to get a decent buck.

Three week soak. Looks like a lot of activity up until this last week. Some nice bucks but they are REALLY deep in there. 1:15 bike ride then a 20 minute hike. Hunted it today and grabbed the cam but no deer sightings.

So far I have passed on a spike twice on my X stand and seen two other unidentified deer at the X stand Thursday.

do you think the second to last pic is the same deer as the deer in the last pic. If he is the same one he's a really good one, wide and pretty massive.

It sure looks like it could be, but hard to know for sure since that one picture is blurry. Definitely a mature buck I'd say, maybe 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 years old.

Nice series of pics.  I like the coyote pic of him taking a dump in front of the cam for you!

Not sure what is up with the cam but it keeps taking pics of nothing at night and I'm positive missing a lot of deer.

Unfotunately the trigger speed was too slow to capture this hog but he looks like an older buck, maybe regressing slightly. That back 3rd is crazy long. Would love to see what he looks like with a better pic  :bash:

The Tascos actually have a fairly fast trigger speed, about 1.5 seconds I believe. You either need to have it set so they're coming directly towards or directly away, or use some sort of bait to get them to stop. I sure started getting a lot more pictures, and better pictures, once I started putting apples in front of all my cameras.

Sure does look like a nice buck.

Bobcat, the trigge speed on the tascos is much better than my moultrie. For some reason I get black pictures mixed in with night pics. Triggered when I showed up to grab it so it was working.

Half a day left!!
