Unit 117 Disabled Antlerless Moose tag left
« on: November 21, 2011, 05:16:08 PM »
I still have not filled my Disabled antlerless moose tag. The only cows I have seen have been to far away but have seen alot of nice bulls. I have a Ford 4X4 F350 crew cab long box with canopy so I can go most places. Turning around can be an issue on some roads. Hunted off Rd 3520 last time and saw cows but to far away. How much snow is at the end of the 3520 road? Hunted Gletty creek and would not do that again, road is rough and over grown. Been thinking of Buck Creek area, saw alot of sign early past end of closed road. Any sighting lately would be helpful. Driving up and down roads has not produced yet. I am getting to know the Flowery Trail Rd real well. Touchet2

How much longer do you have to hunt?

Well shoot, the only area I'm really familiar with is one you've already been too.  Hopefully Tman can point you in the right direction.  Let us know if we can help in any way!

the buck creek road that runs behind sacheen lk should produce for you... lots to see from the road and always moose in the road or near it. I know of a paricular dead end road that always has moose on or near it. theres a turnaround at the end of it too.

Lots of snow up there now. You might want to give the local bio. a call. Good luck.

I might be able to help you out on Saturday afternoon or Sunday up in that area.  I live right across the river.

Guys,
Thanks for all the info and help. I will try the areas that are driveable and will let you know how it goes. I have my son-in law and Grandson to help back if needed. Thanks again and keep those suggestions coming in, I need all the help I can get. Thanks again!
