Yelm Hunter, I don't like snaggers and poachers any moe than you do, unfortunatly we don't know if this guy was knowingly breaking the law or just stupid.

If you are serious about your post you really need to get some help.Don't worry I don't need to get any help.... I'm sick and tired of POACHERS AND SNAGGERS!! How about them Indians that through them big Triple Hooks over and snag your fish from you that you have been fighting for 15 mins thats 40lbs?? If you were in my shoes and fish as much as I do and own your own boats and guide service you would understand. Oh and don't worry I have plenty of clients that will say the say thing...
Sorry Yelm Hunter, points are only for big game violations. Can't get any for fishing violations. If you are serious about your post you really need to get some help.
wish I could have seen the picture!
Please send me the picture I would love to see it. Now that law was put in place last year from what I understand. I understand how to treat a fish so that it lives. But I still wonder if they went too far with this. If you took it out for say 5 seconds then put it back in the water then release it would it still survive?
But I still think the law does not work. I was over at the Grande Ronde I found two dead steelhead in the water. Now that place is 99% fly fisherman. They take care of the fish way better then gear fishermen because only gear fishermen post pictures of fish out of the water. So based on that, I think fly fisherman should be banned from using longer than 11 foot rods because they ware out the fish and they die with the longer rods.
You continue to be a piece of work Yelm.

If you took it out for say 5 seconds then put it back in the water then release it would it still survive? the problem is there was no water dripping from the fish so just a quick pic is not what happened. the other problem is that the guy had his fingers in the gills and was holding it over the rocks at about upper stomach sternum height while he was standing on his feet. now, have you ever felt how strong a steelhead can be when it gets to squirming around? all it takes is half a second and that fish is falling onto sharp rocks from about 4 1/2' - 5' up. that would be like dropping you from 15' onto rocks after you just fought for your life and had no oxygen to breathe. to be honest there were things in the picture that would lead me to believe that fish was not released but im not gonna go there.Quote from: TheHunt on November 30, 2011, 05:09:25 PMBut I still think the law does not work.
