I was kind of going for rediculous there bud. all im getting at is that maybe you should cut the guys some slack and not go around checking pictures for water droplets coming off of fish.

by the way that fish in your picture probably didnt make it cause it looks like you had his head out of the water for an extended period of time during that photo shoot.

you obviously have no idea how bad the wild steelhead in the snohomish system are doing. mark my words, they will NOT be around forever. this kind of thing really gets under my skin. as pressure keeps rising runs keep declining, as a matter of fact they keep declining so bad that wdfw feels like they have to keep closing the river earlier and earlier to protect them. we need to be doing everything we can to protect these fish and cherish them while they are still around. i love and have the utmost respect for these fish as they were some of the first steelhead i had ever caught and i have spent a lot of time chasing them. it deeply saddends me to see a fish of this caliber treated like that.

your posts show me how clueless you truly are on this subject :twocents:

I understand the situation. but im sure that you arent perfect neither am i, and unless you were there standing right next to the guy to witness him loading that fish up dont even throw that accusation out there that it may not have made it back in the water. and instead of sitting here and bashing this one guy how about you put your time to better use and instead of talking about doing something to help these fish you actually DO IT!!! Maybe informing this guy more politely would have taught him something and then he could pass the knowledge on to others. But hey lets just threatin him and tell him we are going to the WDFW (not saying you did this button nubs).

did you even see the pic? that fish had the infamous "dead eye" and what looked like a bruise on its side. google "wild steelhead pics" pay attention to their eyes, the ones that are still alive are looking down to some extent. the fish in the pic had that lifeless eye, looking straight out of the side of its head. as a matter of fact i just went through a bunch of my pics and none of the live steelhead i have pictures of have the deadeye look that the bonked ones do, once you see it enough its easy to spot. maybe i shouldnt have said it but i dont really care.

i have DONE IT more than a few times by the way.

:beatdeadhorse:

edit: agreed. done.

Even if it does swim off, if it has been stressed out enough (according to fisheries bios) it probably won't spawn (successfully anyways).  So in that case it is just as good as dead.

Not true. It is the wdfw officer's discretion as to whether he submits you for a points request for points to be given out. Officers have told me that if the case is big or there are multiple violations on multiple days that points could and would be highly considered.

Sorry Yelm Hunter, points are only for big game violations. Can't get any for fishing violations. If you are serious about your post you really need to get some help.

Why hold back? Sometimes a dead horse needs to be beaten. Until these idiots get it in their thick skull, that wild steelhead are on the verge of extinction in Washington state, they'll have to get their feelings hurt in threads like these.

Once these fish are gone, they're gone...as in FOREVER!

Agreed.  People complain about beating a dead horse, but then people still post pictures showing they have zero ability to correctly handle fish that must be released.  People should, and will, continue to comment on poor handling technique as long as people continue to have poor handling technique.
