« on: January 21, 2012, 12:42:01 PM »
Just wanted to invite anyone to come to the club house to shoot flint rounds. They are being held then 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7pm at our club house. If you are not a member you are welcome to attend and pay the $2 guest fee or come and join for the low fee of $30+$10 initiation.
These are the rules we use.  we shoot 6 Mondays for the score but normally have 8-10 times you can come in because of scheduled conflicts...

The center of the lower row shall be 30-inches from the floor and directly below the upper targets. Example: 35cm target on the left and four of the 20cm on right.

3.        Shooting Positions
a.        This round is to be shot on a 20-yard range with shooting lines marked parallel to the target line at distances of 20, 30, 40, 45, 50, and 60 feet.
b.       Starting at the 20-yard line, and proceeding toward the target line, the shooting lines are to be numbered 3, 1, 5, 4, 6, and 2.

4.        Shooting Rules
If an archer starts out on a high target, as in lane one, he/she shoots their second half on the low target in the same lane. Vice versa if they were on the lower target the first half then they shoot the second half on the high target. Archer must straddle the shooting line while shooting.

5. Practice
Two ends of practice shall be allowed as follows:
One end (4 arrows) from 60-feet. The Archer may shoot any arrow at any spot on his/her face. (The archer may shoot all arrows in the center spot if the archer chooses to or shoot one in the larger and the other 3 in the smaller spot. Any combination the archer so chooses.)
One end (4 arrows) from 30-feet. Shooting at the 20cm spots on his/her face.
Arrows must only be in the smaller target. The archer may shoot more than one arrow at a spot.

6.        Scoring
Target scoring values are 5, 4, and 3
5 points – center  white
4 points – next black ring
3 points – outer black…ring

Arrows must only touch to receive higher value. Double Scoring. Archer keeps one score card and the other one is sent in. Both score cards must me singed by the archer and score keepers.

7. BOUNCE-OUT and PASS-THROUGH ARROWS
A witnessed bounce-out and/or pass-through arrows will be re-shot after the final end.

8. Equipment Failure:
a) In the event of equipment failure, the archer will step back off the shooting line and raise his bow. The Range Captain will check the equipment failure. b) The archer will have fifteen minutes repair time without holding up the tournament. When the archer returns to the shooting line, one practice end will be allowed. c) The archer shall be allowed to shoot any arrows he or she did not shoot during the fifteen minutes repair time, after the final end.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
