2011 Montana Bucks
« on: November 22, 2011, 01:05:23 PM »
Here are the two bucks my dad and I got a couple weeks ago in Montana.  We had a great hunt and had the chance to see lots of deer.  The rut kicked into full force on the evening before we got our bucks.  That day we saw 12 different good bucks and spotted my buck just before dark.  We knew it was going to be good in the morning and the next morning it was.  We spotted my buck from quite a ways out, but only a couple hundred yards from where he was the night before and closed the distance to about 150 yards as he was chasing 3 does.  I managed to make a good shot just before he got to the crest of the ridge.  After I got mine, my dad turned and made a great shot at about 200 yards on his buck who was standing with another doe.    We were both very happy and blessed to be able to hunt in such great deer country.  A big thanks to my dad for going with me again this year and making this hunt happen, I definitely will not forget that.  Also a big thanks to the landowner for letting us hunt on her property again!
