The helicopter/plane where I was wasn't shooting.  Just a small plane that flew around up one drainage and then down the other side.  Then a helicopter came over.  The cover was too thick to see as it hasn't been logged in many years (maybe if they were using thermal imaging).  I was guessing WDFW, NPS, or hippies (all the same now really).  Last year I was in 607 and NPS was doing an elk count at the same time as WDFW.  From what I understand they use their radio receivers to track the collars and then work over the area.  Last year it was in Sept not Nov.

I hate to bust everyone's bubble but, I fly with the best thermal site in the world. The amount of detail we have is amazing. But thermal sites don't see through stuff. Flying over trees I see trees. If deer people or elk are under tje trees I can't see through tje tree branches. I can't see through walls etc. With a thermal you cant see through glass

I have flown over a bunch of animals and most rarely even look up.  Most keep doing whatever it is they are doing.  Unless you come to  a hover right above their heads and literally try to herd them.  But zipping around at 100feet (while not safe) wouldn't bug the animals at all.

colockum, I've seen plenty of animals scatter hauling around at 200 feet. Kinda depends on the terrain. Out in the open they spook really easy. On reservations and in thick cover they don't do much. You can't count your helo bc you have that whole underpowered system with those skinny blades. I do envy that your transmission just slides right out tho.

Is everything on here a conspiracy???  Where these planes and helicopters seen doing anything other than flying around?  Who's to say they weren't just people out for an afternoon or morning flight?  People own planes, people own helicopters and surprisingly enough, they fly them.

:yeah:  The video of the Yakama Nation and Nevada F&W herding and catching showed the Antelope fleeing for their lives.  I was north west of this location that same weekend and I don't recall any helo's? :tinfoil: :tinfoil: :tinfoil:  Maybe they just stayed in that general area for some reason :dunno:  transpl...wolv...um nevermind... :tinfoil: :tinfoil: :tinfoil: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Ah the crashawk. What do you mean underpowered.  And those skinny blades give us whisper mode :chuckle:   I can almost hover over there.

I know people making comments were joking around, I do have a little bit of a sense of humor :chuckle:  It was more of a comment to the thread, not the comments.
