Bibs vs pants, preferences?
« on: December 01, 2011, 05:53:33 PM »
Well I have never been much of a snow sports person so I havn't had much of a need for snow pants/bibs. This year I want to start some predator hunting and snow shoeing with possible overnights. I have no plans for any skiing or snowboarding (cant) so I was looking for your guys' preferences pros/cons of either. I am leaning toward the bibs right now.

Also what pattern preferences, mossy oak type camo or white camo? I am leaning towards the white camo but my jacket is mossy oak along with my gloves and gaitors (not that I am trying to make a fashion statement :chuckle:)

Thanks for any input

The pants being different camo shouldn't be a problem at all from what I've heard.

Bibs all the way...you can always get a light weight set of snow camo coverups so you will be able to use your regular camo for times when there is no snow...just my  :twocents:

Bib is better in the rain and snow.  Camo pattern is optional.  Just pick what you like.

Bibs, for activities in the snow all the way.  Snowmobiling, I always wore them in case you bail or something atleast they keep the back side dry in the event shirt lifts or something..  Nothing like cold snow on bare skin... :yike:

Love the bibs until it is time to take care of business. Gotta strip all the top layers off.

:yeah:    That's the big disadvantage of having bibs. I hate it. Especially if it's snowing/raining and/or you're in a big hurry to take care of said business! With pants it's a lot less hassle.

If you are doing vigorous snowshoe activities the bibs will be toasty. They are definately warmer than pants. Just keep in mind that you don't want to work up a good sweat then sit around in the cold.
