What about moleskin?  I heard a moleskin thong will keep things hot in any situation!   :chuckle:

Plus, if you had a problem with nut rub, it would protect the jewels too.

merino wool base layer and outer layer for me. can wear the wool for a week straight without any stank and very comfortable
