After seeing smdave's post with his kimber 338 federal I think thats dam near the best westside bear/elk gun.
Hell I REALLY want one for out here in MT. Light, minimal recoil, plenty of KO power out to 300 yards and in a short action. If only I could trust there accuracy a bit better id already have one

Thats why I said my book :chuckle: I would shoot a bear with a 243 but if I am picking one for just bear I am going 284 or bigger. I would have no prob shooting one with a 25-06 or 270 etc. If I am picking one just for bears! its going to be 284+. Mine have all been shot with a 300 win mag.
