my buddies late season muleys....
« on: November 26, 2011, 08:35:12 PM »
Just got back from our late season muley hunt. Was a good year. Dont have much in the way of a
story, since i was not one of the lucky guys.As usual the big ones come with alot of luck. Anyway
here are some pics. One buck went 28inchs outside spread. The other was about 21in i believe.
Posting these for my buddies :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

"As usual the big ones come with a lot of luck". I don't believe that to be true most of the time. Sure, occasionally you'll get a guy that gets "lucky" by having a big one cross the road in front of him and him jumping out and shooting him, but  I think a lot more big bucks get killed by hard work rather than by "luck". A guy that hunts hard, is persistent and knowledgeable and gets a big buck, I don't call lucky. I don't think you meant it that way, but how I took it, you basically called out your buddies as not being "good" hunters. Again, I don't think you meant it that way. What I call lucky is someone winning the lottery, OR winning your late season buck permit! Now, thats what I call lucky!
I hope you didn't take this the wrong way.
Oh yea, nice bucks.

No You are correct. This guy hunts harder then most guys i know pushing 50 years old and
derserves too shoot something like that because of it.This what i meant by luck is this.
This buck was taken out in the middle of a giant field. No tree within a 100yds.
He was looking for a arrow he lost while shooting at a buck opening morning.
Then this pig comes thru and happens to walk within shooting range.
So yea alot of luck was involved, but yea he made the shot and worked hard to get back in there
for a position to take a shot. That in a nutshell is the story.
