If you have gravity boots and can avoid devils club, and have a good rain jacket, probably a heck of a hunt.

Creeping Death,
I've spent a lot of time in the Olympic high country.  You're really not gonna find too many stud blacktail.. The bruisers are in the Park or in the private lowlands.  The wilderness areas of the Olympics are not the best habitats for deer.  Mountain Goats, maybe, but not deer.

Olympic National Park...  Big area.. can't miss it.   ;)

Can't hunt the park, only the wilderness areas surrounding it.

Creeping Death,
I've hunted just outside of some the wilderness areas years ago.  My dad has taken some good ones up on these high ridges during the October rifle seasons.  Have seen one real monster come out of a wilderness area close to where we hunted.  Need to find areas without trails.  If you are really interested PM me and I can give you a few places to start at least which wilderness areas to check out.

To all, My apologies...  I've seen a lot of goats, but only a few deer and nothing big.  The areas "off trail" will be difficult (steep) hunting.  I should probably pay more attention...

I have heard of only a handfull of truly large blacktails in the Olympic Wilderness. I am sure they are there though. I remember a story my father told me about a monster buck he saw in the Col. Bob area. Was the size of a good muley and acted like he had never seen a human before. Bummer that it was elk season and not deer.

The absolute widest blacktail I've ever seen -dead in the back of a pick up, came from that area. I would conservatively estimate the width at 26". This was about 1996, Satsop.
