Great bull Kevin...you paid your dues (money and time in the woods) so congratulations. Pay no heed to those on this site who are jealous. One day they may learn that life is so much easier when you quit worrying about making other peoples values match your own.
But if it were me I'd feel a whole lot better earning that bull and hunting with friends and family rather then just writing a check.
never let it be said i don't think for one second this hunter didn't hunt hard and earn this trophy! am i jealous? you bet! I think it would be AWESOME to have the cash to buy the governors tag! but buying a tag isn't the same as just buying a trophy bull.I have NO doubt this hunter hunted his butt off and was was successful in killing a dream bull, and I truly am happy for him. Do i wish i had the money and opportunity to do the same? You Bet! after my previous posts, many have come to the table with great first hand information that this guy was in fact hunting with friends and relatives. to be able to share the experience of hunting a bull of this caliber with those close to you makes me doubly jealous.again, congrats to the hunter!

He didn't buy a trophy, he bought the opportunity to hunt. He had two guys and a gal with him on his hunt, no different than the majority of us would have had if we had drawn the raffle tag.
I gotta tell ya Kevin, that's a damn good one! I gotta say, instead of attacking this guy, i bet all us guys could learn alot from this hunter, he hunts his butt off each year, and for sure earns what he harvests. Yes, he has some money to buy some great tags to give him the OPPORTUNITY to hunt, he doesn't buy his trophy, he buys the OPPORTUNITY to earn a trophy. Each year we see the same whining about someone who is fortunate enough to be able to earn a great animal. Why can't we all just tell kevin he got a great animal, who cares if someone helped him, who cares what tag he has, who cares how much money he spent, cause none of that matters. When we harvest an animal, we need to thank the animal for allowing us to harvest it, and thank ourselves for harvesting an animal for more than just a trophy....My

I would do the same thing If I could afford to. He has been hunting for a bull off and on since the late summer/early fall. He didnt buy that bull, he bought the opportunity to go and find one. The area where he shot that nice bull is steep and deep, I know alot of guys who couldnt handle hunting in that kind of terrain one day much less weeks on end.
