Love the story!  And I really like that you didn't feel pressured into posting pictures.  After reading the story, one can see that you got what you wanted out of the hunt.  A Booner would have been nothing more than icing on the cake (albeit very tasty icing), but better rarely means bigger to those who appreciate the depth of our sport.  And thanks for your years of volunteering to educate new hunters.

Great write up.  Makes this hunt seem very intriguing, yet challenging at the same time.  I hunt with a couple of guys who always have to comment on the size of the buck rather than concentrating on the hunters excitement.  My grandpa always says "you can’t eat the horns."

Congrats on a great buck! I can't beliece he broke off tines with that mass! Either he has fighting off a rock or there is a another brute out there! Way to get it done damn fine buck

Not too many rocks in the desert. Big 5x4 last year broke off his g2 I believe. Can't remember exactly, but bucks busted off is fairly common out there.

O.K. here is a pic. This lil' guy was a quick decision. As I stated. Around 8am I told my partners the next buck I see goes down.  These type of bucks and slightly bigger are all around if you poke in the right places. The guy on the left is oine of my hunt partners and helped me out A LOT!
