Ammonia for scent control???
« on: November 30, 2011, 10:38:19 AM »
Has anyone tried non-scented ammonia for cover scent.  I heard from a co-worker that it works awesome, but I am skeptical?

-Sorry to the bowhunters if you are reading this twice.  I want to get some more input before sitting in my tree stand this weekend :sry:

Plenty of people pee out of their treestands.  30 mins later it is non-species-specific ammonia.

A friend takes Midwest guided hunts every year and swears by Windex as an attractant that his guides use frequently.

Pay no attention to him.  He has been hanging around someone with a third grade mentality lately, a simple case of monkey see, monkey doo.   :chuckle:

To get back kind of on topic. Hillbilly, the answers you got are what everyone thinks. If someone had a different opinion on it then they would probably chime in. It bothers some people to respond to your post just to find you post it again somewhere else. Don't let some of these guys intimidate you. They can be.... coarse at times. Generally though most of the people, even the coarse ones, are here to help. Just gotta have thick skin.

AOD, you should actually have posted the pdf so it's a usable form. That way I can steal it and bring it back for this new generation of gimmes.

I will use scent killer but ultimately hunt the wind. I think the animals will smell you no matter what if wind is going toward them... people stink...   is this a better response? :chuckle:
