late archery buck
« on: December 05, 2011, 10:49:46 AM »
I was able to.notch my WA archery deer tag Saturday with this guy. Definitely not the king of the mountain but a respectable buck nonetheless. I decided to stay put in the blind all day. Does and spikes and 2 points were in and out all morning. After I ate lunch I looked at my clock and it said 12:09 I kept telling myself it could happen at any time. Then a doe came flying in with her tail half up and squatted and peed 7 yards from my blind... I could smell she was in heat. Smelled liketinks 69 haha. Right when I realized she was in heat a buck came flying in and I stopped him.at 4 yards grabbed my bow and.drew as I aimed he bolted back into the brush. He popped out are 10 yards but facing right tat me and no shot. He went back in brush. Came out at 25 and stopped broadside and I shot him. He went about 80 yards. It was a great way to end an even greater season. I filled elk and deer tags in WA and Idaho.

Thanks for the compliments. Sorry for the typos in the write up... my phone likes to add periods and letters and sometimes change words.  :dunno:

Nice buck!  That would have been cool if you could have gotten a shot off at 4 yards, but 25 still makes for a good story.  Congrats!
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!
