Kinda sad as I have spent a majority of my life in the woods comfortable being unarmed with cats and bears alike, and generally if I felt I needed to be armed it was from two legged predators.  This however does change things dramatically.

Like Boneaddict said I to have spent most of my life in the outback feeling perfectly safe unarmed, but that is changeing.  Wolves are supposed to eat only the OLD and CRIPPLED so at near 77 years old I don't get around real lively and I'm starting to feel like easy prey.  So more and more I'm packing the 41, while fishing or out for a walk, just extra wieght I hope I never need.

Any death caused by a wolf or wolves; I put the blame 100% on those that support the wolf reintorduciton :twocents:

You should see some of the comments on pro-wolf pages about the deputies being told to shoot wolves on sight.  A quick summary of how these groups feel - humans in those areas are invading the wolves territories, and it makes no sense to shoot the wolves when it would be easier to just shoot the people

Great, wolf lovers are people, therefore they are delicious and nutritious. We should encourage all wolf huggers to take a hike.  :chuckle:

Somebody asked the question, "How many breeding pair do they want in Wa. state?"

As many as it takes to justify not needing hunters as an apex predator or conservation tool.

I shared this news with someone who I suspected was a liberal... I brought it up in a very non chalant tone to judge his reaction. He said: "GOOD! Serves her right for hunting them to the bring of extinction!"

...  :yike: ...

So I let that statement just sit out there for a moment. Then, I mentioned: "Well the news story said that she was just a teacher out for a run."

.... "Well, she's a human, its societal karma in action."

Wow dude...

Wolves killed AK teacher; report adds new fuel to NW wolf war

With confirmation the other day by the Alaska Department of Fish & Game that at least two wolves were responsible for killing a young high school teacher, the debate about wolf management in the Pacific Northwest has erupted anew.

IN response to Muzbusters paste from the greenies.  They evidently don't know that the woman killed by wolves was a teacher at an Indian school (eskimo)  Nobody knows if the eskimos were there first or the wolves.  She was just teaching them how to read so they could decide for themselves what choices in life to make.  John 3:16 for instance.

Well, I have spent a majority of my life in the woods quite comfortable being armed, so I never worried about two-legged predators or the four-legged variety, neither.
