That is an awesome mount! Would love to get an elk worthy of mounting like that. I guess my question would be how do you get something that big and pretty home?  :dunno:

340 bulls are the superior of the big bulls in my opinion... :chuckle:

Hey Charlie,    a few questions if your don't mind.   How tall is it?  how much does it weigh roughly?   To do a wrap around like you did, how far back do want the cape cut on an elk for this kind of mount?    I'm very impressed with your work.  Good job.

Charles, that's just awesome work. Very nice.

I see your avatar is a cougar mount. Is that the one that Joe shot?

Thanks guys.

It was posted back in 2011 but someone brought it back up.

Pianoman, that was bearhunters cougar he killed with his bow .

No Bark, It is approximately 8 1/2 feet tall . Nice thing is it is a custom peice so I can make it as high as need be or as low as it needs to be to fit . Weight , The base with habotat is probably 75 pounds, the mount andother 75 or so . It could be more thats just a guess. The cape would need to be cut about the front of the hind quarters to have enough to wrap like that . I can always trim extra I dont need.

180 grain, the elk slides off. I use 1 inch square tube . The top of the base comes off also .
