Need a coyote trapper
« on: December 08, 2011, 10:16:53 PM »
I'v shot 8 dogs since july 3 in the last 10 days I'v seen 3 more since then just not able to get the rifle on em. Both my springers are missing lost our rooster 1 hen our cat and every single fawn born in the last 4 years don't make it through the first week. 40 acres in Conway salmon stream runs through the property 13 acres wooded fenced perimerter, got steers (2) My wife has a toy pomerain that she can't let out without fear the bad dogs will get it. Come trap em, the last 2 I shot had great hides both females.

Chances are you wont be able to trap them in a live trap and we can only use live traps in this state. I have seen a few now and again go into a live trap but for the most part you will have to shoot them. Sorry about your loss of animals.

Sounds like you have enough of a problem to get a permit for some good steel traps. Hopefully you will get a response from someone close enough to help you out.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Definetly sound like a permit would be doable. We have a link to the permit application on our website http://watrappers.com/

I don't need a permit this is my private property and these little wolves need to be put in check. I'v shot 3 in the last 10 days and seen 3 more. The only thing I know about trapping is moles and I'm teeing off on them right now.

If your going to use the banned traps you still need the permit even on your own property.

If you don't need a permit,,,, you don't need a trapper,,,,,,(WSTA members abide by all state and federal regulations concerning the management of wildlife populations)

Keep shooting..........you don't want to pay pat 300-1000 dollars someone will quote,,,,,,,

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Nope you cannot use foothold, snares or conibears, unless you apply for a special permit for nuisance wildlife problems.  Regular trapping in WA is restricted to cage traps and rat traps.
