Thats for sure!!  My uncle drew the late hunt out there but he'll be shooting the same size deer we shoot during the general season.

The late hunt can be very good, general season it is hard to get away from the other hunters. Orange everywhere your turn!
One shot, one Deer. Two shots, maybe one Deer. Three shots, no Deer

The deer population has dropped significantly there the last few years. There are some bruisers there. I have had good luck up stafford creek, and down low near the river. Lots of people though.

Here is a buck taken in the Teanaway late buck last year.

I passed on this one on day two of my late archery. Ended up being the third biggest buck I saw in 6 days. The other two never gave me a chance. They were not much bigger though. I dont know if it was a rough late hunt of if i just suck.  :dunno:

You do suck! Maybe if you would put the damned camera down and take a shot, you might have a deer on the wall...   :chuckle:

I've hunted Teanaway for 15 years and we've taken some great bucks.  Here's a pic that was taken after the 2006 season.  The deer on the left was taken on the High Hunt but the rest came out of the Teanaway.  The big dawg in the middle pushes 180.

My aunt has property there. Back in early 90's we used to hunt the hell out of it. In Nov/Dec we the deer would winter on my aunts property and we would commonly see 100+ deer and out of that 25 would be 4 and 5 points. That was really something to see. The Teanaway deer have great genetics.
