Hard to say.   I'd guess that one place is as good as the other.

You know they're all over the countryside, but seeing them is a whole 'nother deal entirely.

I have seen a fair amount of sign in the drainages north of Hwy 410 between Whislin Jacks Lodge and Eagle Rock.

probably have better luck cutting a track in the fresh snow( keep your finger crossed for the snow).  And yes up the 410 is a good area in general.  there are good numbers of cats, from rock creek to the top.  cutting a track/very hard, can be done successfully with fresh snow though.  find where there's a good abundance of deer/sign.
Work sucks!!!! I should be shed hunting

Another good cougar area is up around the 9310 road going past Spencer Butte.  Have seen 2 in there, never in season though  :bash:  However, be prepared for bad weather and roads up there.  It sets in quick and usually lasts till May or so...
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.
