My Wife's late season whitetail
«

My wife killed this buck yesterday evening. The shot appeared to be a little far back and the blood was dark so I suspected a liver shot. We gave it a couple hours and I followed the blood trail 200 yards before deciding to back off and wait until today. After getting all the waypoints loaded into Google Maps we learned that this buck traveled nearly 700 yards and 400 meters of it was up a steep hill!!
A good friend came out to help me track this morning. There were several points where confidence was at an all time low but we stuck with it. The last 20 yards of blood trail was very heavy...see pic below...it would have been nice to have that kind of blood trail the entire way! This is her fourth buck in four years of hunting. It is good to have some venison in the freezer.

Well done, you have to love the snow when it comes to those type of hits.
