I post a thread about respect of animals and photos and was called "yuppy" and that we worry to much about what the antis think. This was exactly what I was talking about. He shot elk. Elk goes out to edge. Either becomes weak and falls, or choices to jump. Not sure which. Not the important part. That where it should have ended. But NO some *censored* films it and puts on internet. Now everyone is up in arms. What the difference in this and the kinda pictures I spoke of? I remember your post, I believe we was called, tree huggers, or bunny huggers, also yuppies, and photo police it was.

the reason everyone is upset is theres no reason to post an elk jumping to his death...i know you cant see it all but the way it was portrayed in the video wasnt good on "our" image...the anti's look for any reason possible to throw it back at us....yeah all of the hunting shows have deer/elk/ bear being killed but there clean shots...they dont show animals being cornered on a cliff and them jumping off...like i said in a earlier post the hunter should have backed off and hoped the elk would have felt safe enough to back track from the edge to make another shot and put the elk down...im sure it happens more than we all think..but you dont see everyone posting it on youtube for the world to see....the hunter should have more respect for the animal than that...i know i would....ive been archery hunting elk for 6 years and have yet to harvest one...ive had plenty of opportunity for shots..they would have been very risky shots and i chose not to take them for fear of loosing the animal and having more respect for the elk
the infatuation with having to see these things on tv and the net,do bother me..But to glorify it in a way that is tasteless, really irks me...if that makes sense to anyone
If it wasn't for the comments that the person put on the video about the elk only having two options and the elk landing closer to road I would have no problem with it. The comments were class less and puts hunters in a bad light.
I really dont see anything unethical about this. They shot an elk standing on a cliff. It fell off the cliff. Just like 90% of goat hunts and no one seems to care about that. The way the video was presented was terrible and I would never put something like that up on the interne though.
