High elevation food plots???

Does anybody have any info on making a small food plot in eastern washington...this would be situated in the blue mountains on biscuit ridge bordering the water shed. I have  20 acres there and a hand pump well. I have pictures of some nice bucks in the area but I want to create that little slice of tree stand heaven.

Best advise I have would be to get intouch with food plot companies and see what would be best for your area.

Deer and Deer Hunting has a website that can send you in the right direction. You can even send in soil samples. They will help you determine what the best mix of stuff to plant. I say mix because you will want a summer plant that brings them their but unless you bowhunt you will need a fall/winter plant that will keep them coming.

i had a food plot over here in tonasket at about 2200 feet and it did alright through out the summer but if it water it would have been awesome!! the name of it is Frigid Forage i used the Big n Beasty Brassicas it has sugar beats turnips daikon radishes

I grow several oat plots each year. Its a very hardy crop, requiring no water. Most deer dont start hitting it until it freezes or snows a bit though. Great for late season hunting.

get on biologic's web site and shoot them an e-mail. you will need to send them a soil sample and they will send you a report on what you may need to add to the soil and what will grow the best. make sure you tell them of the elevation
