No it doesn't.  Damn pellets weren't flying straight or shot was bouncing of bird (they must have thicker feathers than normal).  :chuckle:

1 bird for 5 shots is the nat'l avg, according to a waterfowl hunter study I read awhile back.

I shot 17 for 3 yesterday. Some of my shots were a little high or far, but I was trying a different load, and curiosity got the best of me.  :chuckle:

I am trying to be more patient and wait for the best shots.

I don't refer to it as bad shooting, but rather giving them a chance...I like to give my game animals a "warning shot" usually anyway, makes it more sporting :chuckle:

If you have not put your current hunting loads on paper with your gun and choke tube you might want to do that. It could be the pattern and not really you. If it is, you will save a ton of money on shells by investing in a better choke

Duck hunting is some of the only hunting that you can shoot all day, not even get a 1/4 of what you shot at and still laugh your ass off about it!!! Cant beat a day out away from everything, shoot your gun and not love it.

What choke tube were you using and how far away were the ducks  :dunno:

Buy black cloud shells = kill more birds

Sometimes I just don't care and I'll start slinging lead. You miss 100% of the birds you don't shoot at.

A duck in true range any stock choke tube will do the trick. We all have those days. But a box :sry: that sukz. If I don't get my 7 with ten shells i'm done for the day. And have been there. No use in crippling birds on a bad day. I blame it on the shells or the gun, After all it couldn't be my shooting :chuckle: :chuckle:

I have pattered all my chokes.
Surprisingly, the full choke sucks. There is a hole in the pattern you can fit a mallard through.

The improved cylinder needs some improving. The patter is H U G E .

I use the modified all the time.

All chokes were tested at 25 yrds.

Yeah I had some of the Black cloud snow goose 3'' 2's and I made some super long shots with them, I killed a gadwall stone dead at 65-70 yards (way to far to be shooting at i know), but then I've crippled off mallards at 40 yards with them multiple times. I dont use them anymore.

It may not be you or your ammo that is causing you to miss it could be your shotgun not fitting you correctly.  Length of pull may to long or short, drop in comb could be to low or high.
