I am really wanting to get into bowfishing this coming year and want to see other peoples platform set ups. I have a 17 foot aluminum boat and am thinking about building a platform. I have a deep v boat. will this work for bowfishing??

Sorry it took me a bit
I run a 18' boat and run 4 people on it "3 shooters". I will have to dig out more pics, this new laptop does not have many on it yet. Your boat should be fine in most places. It will have a harder time in areas that have a lot of depth changes. You will want to take weight into consideration on your build. Mine is made from all steel and is very heavy. Lucky for me my boat is light in the front and the extra weight really helps.
Here is a couple pics that I have on this laptop already.

I am going to have to hook up with you this coming summer and give it a shot. My boat might not be the best boat for shallower water. I cant wait for to get out there and fling some arrows at those fish!

I'm actually in the process of building a platform. I have been bowfishing for 2 years on a flat deck and wanted some height and lighting. Need to finish some welds, paint, carpet the deck and install my 4 500 watt floods. Hopefully it'll be done in the next month or so. Here is a pic of the progress.

Well wish I had one to show
I always done it from the bank ... just like stalking deer or elk ,,, sneaking along the lake and whackin & stackin....
The 1st time I ever went to Moses Lake to shoot carp a buddy and I was sitting in a bar and we got talking to a few locals and we mentioned we were here to shoot some carp ... This black dude says CARP .... Son I will show ya more Carp than you can ever kill BUT you have to let me have them...I said no problem ...he hikes us out threw the cattails dead center of town and says to me go peak over there ....
I mean son
... Well lets just say in couple hours we cleaned out the pond

They make great dungee bait, but keep that under your hat, its a secret.
I need to get out of the dog games and save more time for shooting bows and fishing....that is for sure!!!
I know my little Boston Whaler would make an excellent platform for some carp shooting!
It's had more blood in it than water! LOL... Dad bought it when I was about 6 years old..... My little girl is a legend...

There is many uses for carp. A good chunk of people will eat them, some will use it as fertilizer in gardens and such.
Your Boston will make a great bowfishing boat. Most people get into trouble when it come to running trolling motors in the shallows. I use a push pole A LOT!!! Most the water my clients shoot in is around 3-5 feet deep.
