Let's see some funky rack's!!!
« on: December 13, 2011, 01:10:42 AM »
Probably not what some of you were thinking :chuckle:

Let see some freaks!!! I am nuts about non typicals and funky animals. So if you have pics of some of your animals that have funky points or stickers or anything! Post them up!

I will start with a fallow deer from Nz this guy was funky! I made a great heart shot on him at a little over 300y with my beloved 300win sako handed down threw my family

I don't really have any other bucks that are funky. Just normal but it seem's like every year I am after one. This year I was after one with a big drop tine and he never showed himself. I did get a much nicer buck but I am always after those funky racks :chuckle:

When I was cruising timber down by Rockaway Beach, Oregon, I jumped two deer in the timber. Both were in velvet. One was a 3pt on the right side and the other side was just a smooth bulb about one inch tall. The other buck was a small 2pt on the right side and the same thing, a bulb about an inch tall on the left side. It was really cool seeing these bucks as I was about 20 yards away for about 5 minutes. No pics. Sorry guys.

Interesting genetics maybe?

Here's the second buck I ever killed (the one all the way over on the right).  Must have been about 1987.  I was sitting in my treestand during a windstorm waiting for my Stepdad to pick me up.  It was so cold I had my face inside my coat, out of the wind.  I poked my head out, and saw this buck standing right underneath me.
I thought it was a cool little rack, so a few years ago, I stuffed it as a "practice" deer.  Didn't turn out great (Ebay cape, the lips kept ripping), but I hung it up for a while.  It lives on the wall of the guest room now...

Really cool buck, and even cooler trophy room. That looks great. The dark rack in the center (4pt), is it a muley? or blacktail?

It's a mule deer.  I hunted whitetails growing up in NE Wa, then joined the Army and was gone for 11 years on Active Duty.  I swore if i ever got back out west I was going to learn to hunt mule deer.  In 2005 I finally killed one, so I stuffed it.  It was the first big game head I ever mounted myself.

Here are two with very similiar racks taken in upstate NY two years ago on the same morning in totally different areas.  I put them on the wifes car then texted her the picture to get a rise out of her...It worked.

Don't know how to post link, but there is very cool blacktail rack on ebay for just $7500. Type in blacktail hunting in search window.
Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me

I'd rather be hated for what I am then be loved for what I'm not

Is it me, or are people getting dumber
