Trapper Education and how to get a trapping license

I'm in the okanogan county and am interested in taking the class. Do they put any classes on over in this area or do I have to travel to the west side?

I took the test a the wdfw office in Yakima on Thursday. The test is fairly straight forward though a couple of questions seemed dubious. There are 50 questions you can miss 5. The biggest issue is not knowing for sure if I passed or not since the test has to be graded in olympia.

I have an 8 yr old son who would like to be tested. Can he get a trapping license prior to taking the standard hunters ed course?

You should both try to come to the Trapper Education Class on Dec. 5 at Cabela's in Lacey. There is no minimum age for getting a trapping license, but the person should be old enough to understand the material. Also, there is a new, shorter test now.

Boy I'd love to attend the class with my kids,  but it would require me to travel to olympia and that is something that I just won't do. You are aware that liberalism is contagious? Maybe there will be a class sometime in Yakima,  maybe @ the Cabela's store?  So far I've talked a nephew and all 3 of my kids to take the test. Pretty sure I can get a couple other nephews and my brother to commit as well.

Hoping to be coming to the winter rendezvous on March 19th. The first post mentioned your summer rendezvous. Will you be offering the class in March also? Thanks. I work in Alaska and I just missed being home for the December class.

No class at the Winter Rendezvous in march. Can you make it to the Summer Rendezvous in August. If not PM me and we'll see if we can figure something out.

Of course you will need to pass the Trapper Education course first. The Manual is being rewritten. It is basically done now and should be on-line in just a few days. If you are not in a hurry I would wait a bit until you can download the manual and give it a read. Then you will have to call and schedule an appointment to take the test at a WDFW Regional office. No classes held soon or I would steer you that way.
