Chesapeake

Anyone know of a Chesapeake Bay retriever breeder?  I am looking for a female for myself to get after the holidays and have found one breeder in the tri-cities but have no desire to spend the high dollar amounts they are asking.

I bought mine from a couple in tri-cities. they were not breeders peer say but had registered dogs. I can see if they are planning on breeding again if you are interested.  I bought mine for $300. Great dog but hard headed!

My first post here... We got a Springer from Tim Whitney from Stonebroke Kennels in North Central Montana... He also breeds Chessies and runs an excellent operation, and is highly recomended

PM Happy Gilmore (or wait to see if he replies), he has a great young female and seems to really know his chessies. Search the site and you will find his posts from last year when she cleaned up in the show ring as well as a field dog.

I'm here....Kaie was bred a week and a half ago. Waiting to see if it takes. I had posted the breeding in an advertisement but, had a mix up based upon my misunderstanding of some eye test results. I was quickly straightned out by a Linda Harger. She's one of the top field trialers' in the US AND has Chessies.

As far as breedings from the Tri-Cities, one person in particular has established a terrible reputation within the Chessie community. I've seen numerous people post on different webpages saying they had money stolen from them when putting down deposits on expensive dogs. There are also a lot of dogs which end up in the pound in the Tri-Cities for one reason or another. Clayton Evans, a very respectable breeder and field trainer up in Cheney seems to rescue Chessie after Chessie from down there.

Sign up for this chat room and say hi- great people and THE TOP breeders/field trialers and show folks from all across the US all post here regularly.. Feel free to PM me or call anytime. I like talking dogs and I know just about every breeder around either through reputation or meeting them at our National Chessie events both show and field.

When was that? I sold some a while back  :dunno: I'm not doing it again though! the only people that buy chessies are people that have had them before! they have a bd rep and it's hard to get by! I would put my dogs demeanor up against any lab any day  :twocents:
