It's time to HUNT!
PLEASE READ and Stand together!
«

Fellows,
Recently many of the waterfowl forums have turned hostile. Please take a step back and not slam everyone that has a different view point. I know Im guilty as charged
but its beginning to seem the watefowl section is turning into the soap opera section. I am sure many of us would like to come to the best section of the website and learn something new, see how our fellow hunters are faring, and try to figure out where the honey holes are
See you in the fields, and marshes!

I have been at a loss as to why waterfowlers can't get along. All hunters need to support each other in our hunting sports and respect each others opinions. There are many things that work differently for different hunters, just because something works well for you doesn't mean something else doesn't work well for others.
Regarding seasons and bag limits:
The state and federal agencies establish bag limits on the various species and sexes. If you don't agree with established seasons bitch at the people who establish the seasons, don't take your frustrations out on fellow waterfowlers who are simply following the established bag limits and hunting within the law.
I have had as many complaints from waterfowlers on this forum as most other groups put together. That in itself tells me that a few of the waterfowlers need to show each other more respect for each other. Thanks to all of you for your renewed efforts to get along better.
Good Luck Hunting,
Dale

So how about a migration report, except more Washington than DU, do not have to say where, just what are you seeing . I'll start, no migration observed in north Grant County, Geese in the Moses Lake area, a few locals and a few teal. Weather this year is different, hope to get some weather before season end.
Most of the corn is down ,and still no ducks!!!

I whole heartedly agree with everyone getting along! I've got an idea! If you can't come on to here without saying something resentful then don't OPEN the F,ing thread and keep your mouth SHUT!
seems pretty simple to me. Some retard is always going to have something to say, and unfortunately don't have very good ethics either! So my suggestion is same as you would in the field, don't stoop to their level and eventually the gamies will get ahold of them(in the field), and the mods will get ahold of them(in the forum). Good luck to everyone and ave a good and safe time in the duck blind! Load heavy and shoot straight! And have a merry Christmas.

Between ever shrinking places of opportunity and the desire to succeed, it stands to reason that the competition is strong for the few good hunting spots left to us public land hunters. I feel that this is a major contributor to the frustration expressed by many of the experienced hunters who post on this forum.
I personally cannot justify the expense of a lease site for waterfowl hunting in any form. This makes it pretty hard for guys like me who don't have the resources to draw upon to even learn the "right" way to waterfowl hunt. I am still getting out there and trying, I absolutely refuse to give up. I am guilty of skybusting in the past, but as I get better at judging distances, species and behaviors I am improving my success rate. My calling is still shaky, but I have gotten some ducks to swing my way the last few times out. I read every post on here and seldom post myself, but I am trying to learn from you guys. There are some guys who just bash the crap outta anybody that shows any weakness, but that just makes the regular guys look better. I have certainly gotten a ration or two here. Thanks, Dale for laying down the law for that type of behavior!

Thanks for your post Oscar1987. I can relate. Especially on the leasing private land part (too rich for my blood) but also the attitudes that I see on display here.
It's a trip being a newish water fowler and hearing the types of things that have been posted lately by folks who it seems like should be mentors - elder statesmen, yet they come off more like bleeding deacons. I too want to learn from the veteran hunters. And I am learning how to and how not to be. Who I want to be like and who I don't want to be like. It's kinda funny because there are a few on this board who I can't wait for them to post - I try to absorb everything these few guys say that seem relevant. I think the bleeding deacon types might keep this in mind as I'm fairly sure I'm not the only noob who is watching. You are setting an example no matter how you are behaving.
I am happy to see the mods are aware of what has been going on. Hats off to them fo' sho'
