Eastside Late Archery?
« on: October 05, 2008, 07:19:06 PM »
Anyone have any advice for a first timer during the late archery season?

I am looking mainly at the Teanaway (335) and Taneum (336) units because they are the closest to where I live.

I have quite a few days available for scouting, but I guess I should not be looking for elk exactly?  I mean, where they are now is not where they will be in late November, right?

Thanks for any help you can give.
Brett

Lots of snow then obviously, all the elk are lower or heading lower. Hunt as low as possible, find migration trails and ambush. I hunted late season along hwy 410 with no success last year. I was still to high, I will try areas closer to winter feeding this year. Last year I left the truck at first light & returned for lunch. Every bush near the truck had been eaten on by a herd through out the meadow I was camped in. If I sat on top of the camper I would of tagged.  >:(  Last year the temp was around 20 degrees each day which I was not prepared for. Mike
