My son is turning 11 tomorrow and has tagged along on several hunts, but tomorrow he is gonna get a chance to be a shooter!
I gave him a new 870 20 Ga tonight as an early present and he was so pumped he couldn't speak for a bit. I don't know who is more excited, him or me!
Wish us luck, it has been really slow up here in northern Whatcom County.
Hope to post a pic of his first kill tomorrow night!

Good luck.  Did you just pick the shotgun up from Wholesale Sports?  Black synthetic youth 870 .20 gauge?
Cut em!

Good luck on the hunt.  I can't wait to take my girls still a little young.  I'm pretty sure the younger one will be a killer.

What a great day! We got to the boat launch about 2 hours early, got out to the blind by 5 AM. We set up and waited for the opening bell....
Weather was clear and cold, almost nothing moving. I was hoping beyond hope that we would get lucky and my boy would get the chance to take a crack at at least one duck, any kind would do....We were getting pretty bored and then out of nowhere this beautiful Pintail Drake floated into the pocket as pretty as you please. I could not believe my eyes! I was telling the boy SHOOT IT! SHOOT NOW!! He couldn't see the duck! Finally he looked down at the water and realized the duck was RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM! He was looking UP! Finally he shoots and the duck keeled over right there....1 shot 1 kill! He was so excited I thought he was going to explode! I was relieved the duck cooperated ( committed suicide )
We jumped in the boat and went to get it.  We hung out the rest of the morning and all we saw was a couple of mallards that flew by, I whacked the hen, OOPS! Still a great day all in all.
