Hoyt, Bow tec, Mathews, Looking for a new bow 2012???????

I just say this  I have had a Mathews for about 10yrs now and never had one thing brake or go wrong ...All I do is change strings every couple years ...But I keep it simple and do not put so much sheet on it to where something will brake ...every bow has its own feel and its up to you to check out a few before spending the money

I think the three are pretty good bow manufactures.  I personally like the longer axle to axle bows for my piss poor shooting issues.

Like you've been seeing.  Get out and shoot them all!  Don't limit it to the top three based on advertisement.  Take a gander at the limbsavers and elites, they are pretty sweet.  I personally am a Hoyt guy, but I like my father in laws Z7 extreme, except it's heavy.  Do your homework and shop around.  It's a good time to buy since the season is over, and folks are selling off toys to pay up coming taxes, or just upgrade.

theres alot of decent talk about those g5 bows, ide like to shoot one for sheets and giggles to see how they are. might consider checkin one of those out.

If your coming into Spokane id check out the Quest G5 primal.  I was a little skeptical of such a new manufacturer so I did some research.  The Primal rates right up there with the Carbon element and z7 on many reviews.  Not saying it is as good or better, thats just what I read.  After talking to a couple guys and looking online G5 took over Ross archery after Ross failed to hold up to their end of some business deals.  So the design on the quest g5 isn't a brand new design, it comes with ross archery pedigree.  Long story short it is a very smooth draw, ibo's around 320 if i remember right, its a very nice looking bow, and very quiet in my opinion. Of all the bows I shot it felt the best to me (didnt shoot the element or z7 because I didnt want any added temptations)  Might be something worth looking at if your in town.  I know Wholesale and Cabelas carry them, I paid 729 for bare bow back in April, you can probably find it a bit cheaper now.  I also saw Quest G5 is coming out with an even higher end bow than the primal, but not sure if there are any around town.

Then get the new vector 35 . Rock solid bow and very forgiving also. In my opinion hoyt is always on the cutting edge and EVERYother bow company is just playing catch up. Go to salt lake and tour the plant. Then go tour the rest and you will see what I mean.

I love eveyones different ideas and thoughts. Very cool to see this one pretty cival. I like about 5 differnt bow compaines. My pse bows are the ones I trust my life and hunts to I love my hoyt dorado but have never liked much of there compound bows. I also like elite a lot! They still can't touch my x force and soon my evo

I have owned a lot of different bows and was a die hard Mathews person in tell 2008 when i got a alfa max. it is the best bow i have ever shot , smooth, quite, fast, forgiving,accurate, 4 years i haven't had to tune it once. so why am i wanting to change things up? the bows are evolving so much and so fast i fig, every 3 years a person should take a good look at whats out there, thanks for all of your incite on this i will shoot hem all just the same as last time when i got the alfa max. i would be surprised if i leave with something other than a Hoyt,
But i will go in the with a open mind.

You need to shoot and find what's comfortable for you...   I started with a hand me down Parker magnum and the Elk died just as quickly as the one shot with my new Carbon Element. 
I shot a bunch before settling on the Hoyt.... first off  Hoyt does warrant all their bows... and wherease Carbon fiber can be brittle what are you doing with your bow??!
One thing to keep in mind and check out is that the Hoyt Cams have a shallower valley, or quicker ramp up.  May not seem like a big deal, but if you're at full draw and waiting for the Deer or Elk it can sneak up on you.   
Personally I liked the valley on the Mathews better, but the overall feel of the Hoyt sold me.

No wrong decision.... just what's right for you.  (and if you're like me and plan to hold on to the same bow for a long time  only look at $$ when you come to a tie breaker)

Thanks good advice, and i like to hear this kind of input because if it comes down to a tie, the tie breaker will be greatly influenced by others real experiences.

The short valley is what has kept me from ever getting very interested in Hoyts.  Also, my Mathews has a nice draw cycle (and let down) that is easier on my shoulder (old rotator cuff injury from HS).
