Fireworks
« on: December 31, 2011, 10:44:59 PM »
My Griffon is hearing the fireworks outside tonight.  All he wants to do is find the birds that are being shot.  Had to let him outside to search the back yard, boy was he disappointed.  At least I will be taking him chukar hunting next weekend for one last hurrah this year.

One of my gsp's hates fireworks and thunder but loves gunshots!  The vet told use to give benadryl to calm him.  It works!

Sled that is funny. My gsp that I had would flat out look for a place to hide, pace, wander up and down in the house when fireworks or thunder was happening. Get the dog in front a gun with a bird and he could care less. Not sure why he didn't like it as he didn't seem to be affected when he was younger.

I hate when the 4th of July comes or new years eve, I have 3 yellow labs all great hunting dogs all have hunt test titles.  One of my labs just goes nuts when fireworks start the other 2 have no problem. so every year I get some pills from the vet and she is out during the night of the fireworks.
3 kinds of duck hunters, duck hunters that make it happen, duck hunters that watch it happen and duck hunters that wonder how it happen.                                 MEMBER WWA SOUTHWEST CHAPTER
