EJ (the kid) really couldn't stop talking about it.....he truly was overjoyed! We chatted with him quite a bit and he was happy.....he also was working really hard trying to catch other fish to give to Rasbo for bait.... I wasn't too sure what to expect when showing up but my family had a great time and we met some great people. Will defiitely be back next year! We went night fishing after the potluck and finally I caught a catfish....thanks to all the tips given to us by Rasbo...it was amazing...the almost getting stuck and lost on the river (since our boat didnt have a spotlight) was less than appealing but the tug on my line from the fishes was worth it:)

boy where does one start on a story about a great group of people meeting up and spending time together..My son and I showed up on sunday the 10Th.We were invited to a horseshoe tournament at the Rawhide bar n grill in starbuck. We set up camp and then headed over to the bar.Dan and Mary Joe the owners made us feel welcome, and made my son drink to many beers :chuckle:,he was a little slow rising at 4am the next morning.I had a great partner but I failed to throw worth a dam and we didn't place at all in the tournament.I made a few friends there, and had a blast...Elite1 rolled in late sunday and dropped off his trailer then went back to moses lake that evening to grab his boat.Elite1 was diving quackwhackers new truck and not far from camp managed to fill a deer tag with quackwhackers  truck :chuckle: glad he was OK..Buckhorn2 and his friend Bob the lingcod killer showed up Monday.I'm always very happy to be in their presence,Buckhorn2 has been a great friend and more to me....I gotta say sitting around early in the morning and having a cup of coffee with Del is something I always look forward to.Bad bob the ling king brought the rubber snake which is always a good time :chuckle:....crossing the flats this year had its pucker moments but Del and bob made that better for all of us....Fishing was great, had a life flight helicopter land in camp damn near blowing everything away. The gentleman in trouble had a heart problem and things worked out well for him later,Thank God...Grundy brought some killer rope sausage and we downed a bunch of that, seemed it gave bad bob the toots,Mel brooks would have been proud :chuckle:...My son and I had an awesome time, nuttin better than family...Newbie and her family showed up,and it was a blast watching a family play together.I met a young lad EJ and took him and his mom fishing, and he spoke of a couple of girls he met, turned out it was newbie;s daughters...they had fun down by the water catching bluegill and perch and bass,Newbie had some awesome cookie's she made, yummy...Geno and his friend caught a bunch of catfish, and his brother Jim, Natural born killer and wife showed up also.Ed1672[Im sure i screwed up the number] and friend came and the caught fish at the mouth of the Tucannon river...And he made some killer chili for the potluck..Machias and his lovely wife showed up and fished,it was awesome to spend time with them before they head east...Fred made some cougar steaks ans I did notice a bottle of Jim Beam hanging out next to him that kept calling my name,I succumbed to the urge and just had to have a tug on the old beam bottle...Good luck to them in their travels..Elite1 and his family did an awesome job on the prizes and the tournament, his granson also caught us some killer bait to fish with,A big HELL YEAH to them.See you guys at the BBQ July 28Th...Chris and Jeryl, was great ot meet them great campers and a shout out for the help with dishes and an awesome tatar  sauce recipe...Now lets get to the meat of the story :chuckle:...I took Denali and his wife Lareese fishing on tournament day...Mild mannered couple polite and great company..well that had an evil change...Lareese caught a big catfish right off the get go.It was a long fish and I believe it took the heaviest fish of the day..So she was happy even though it was an anorexic mentally challenged geriatric fish on meth, that displayed suicidal tendencies and proven so,death by fisherman as a result. At this point Denali had not caught a fish yet..But then it happened, his line tightened and bang he caught one..Lareese the evil wife was quick to point out how much smaller it was than the crackhead fish she caught, and she commenced to a verbal beatdown on Brett,,,It was bad folks..she never let up :chuckle: oh but it angered the fish god's...The more she beat up on the fish Brett caught, the more the fish bit his line,2,fish 3 fish 4 fish 5 fish,Lareese sweating still insisting her pale eel looking, snakehead  twiggy of a fish was better.Bang, the awesome husband nails yet another fish, all the while Lareese's rod was not even touched.oh I caught 3 fish while the melee continued.Time was running short for lareese, as the time was almost up to head back to the docks for the weigh in..I warned Lareese it was bad juju to bad mouth another person's fish while still fishing.she smile with a twisted grin and still let on about his first fish, and how small it was....Then out of of nowhere Satan found another suicidal fish, and sent it her way... :chuckle: ......so there is a short run down on the weekend.I have to say thanks to all of you fine folks, you made this trip awesome for me.I will be able to think back on it till my dying day and smile...what a great group thank you all so much

Headed down Sat for the potluck with my younger son.  Had a good time seeing everyone and meeting some new people.  When we got home my son spent about 10 minutes explaining to the wife all the goings on.  He's still laughing because of Grundy's comments about Sasquatch!  Thanks Gundy like I didn't need any help!  Look forward to next year, hopefully I can get some time to do some fishing too.  Many many thanks to Elite1 and Rasbo for putting this together.

Had a great time fishing this weekend and meeting some more Hunt-WA members!

It was a pretty slow start for my group.  Buddy Scotty and I caught 4 cats Friday night at mouth of Tucannon, then nothing on Saturday.  At least we didn't get the *censored* hat.  Another friend came over late Friday night and fished with us Saturday morning.  It was good to see him and he plans on being in elk camp again this year.  But we couldn't get him a fish before he left Saturday afternoon.  He also missed all the great food at the get together.  My son Chris came over from Pullman (WSU) Saturday night and fished with us on Palouse Sunday morning.  We caught three fish, and of course Chris caught the biggest yet (approx 10lbs).  Chris had to head back to Pullman to chase girls Sunday afternoon.  So, Scotty and I went out again that afternoon and caught 10 fish, with 5 fish between 7lbs and 11lbs (why couldn't we have done this Friday night for the tournament, I don't know!).   Overall, great people, great time, and can't wait to go back next year.  Actually, might go back in two or three weeks.
