Yes an eyeguard is a point. I don't think anybody disputes that. But that buck is still a 4 point buck. With eyeguards. Yes, that does give it 5 points on each side. But it's a 4x4 w/eyeguards. That's just the way they are described and it's always been that way.

If the state says anything over an inch I count anything over an inch.

Well a spike bull elk with 2 eye guards on the same side is not a three point in this state.  The state just says its a two point.

well technically by the rules in the regs that is a 5x5 but old school count 4x4 it is harder to judge body size on him but i would guess 150 lbs tops whole.

if your going to start siding with the crazy officials of this state, which I would highly suggest you think hard about...  that it could be considered a 5x5 but it it will always be a 4x4 with eyegaurds to me!

I don't know what 150 lbs whole is ... but live weight is over 230 lbs for sure. Great looking buck!

I would be thrilled to add him to our island genetics!!!  See if you can lure him into a utility trailer and I'll come get him.

Great looking buck, thanks for sharing the pics.

Yeah 4x4-5x5, I personally would call it a 4 point with eye gaurds but what would your harvest reports say. It would say 5 points on the left and 5 point on the right. Let him call it what he wants, you guys are way to critical. :twocents:

he loves apples so I lured him into the garden area behind him in the picture locked the door...then decided to let him go... :dunno: :'(
