Strange coyote experience
« on: December 28, 2011, 09:36:28 AM »
I was walking the dog through a park this morning and I heard this coyote wailing. He was no more than 40 yards from me, but I could not see him through the brush. The stange part was the coyote went on continuously for the 15 minutes I was walking the dog. He finally stopped, but as I left the park, he started up again. It must have been a pup that had gotten separated from the pack.

I have had yotes follow me out of curoisty before, and had one charge me and my lab while duck hunting last year.  Was your dog in heat?

The coyote was making noise before I took my male dog out of the truck. The park is in the city and there are other people walking, jogging, biking and dog walking in the morning.
It is quite marshy and thick with salmon berry. Not sure what caused the coyote to how like that.
Of course, there could have been another dog in heat. The coyote never moved from his location.
