another sight to check is, well google anyways, jbm trajectory. if you find the right page, u simply enter the data you want, to build a range card, get numbers for your scope if you install a custom bdc turret etc etc.

for example: you enter your specific bullet if its listed, or enter its bc number and velocity. then you can choose altitude, temperature etc etc. you will be amazed the at the difference for example you bullet will drop at 500 yards when its 80 degrees, vs 28 degrees, just stuff like that. i used the data for a turret i had made at leupolds custom shop, i gave them the altitude i shoot, the average temperature i encounter etc etc. then i also made a range card for me with maybe five angle settings, wind variables temperature variables etc etc, so when im shooting at 4000 feet and its 38 degrees, i will know my hold over or under, since this gun is set for 2300 altitude and 53 degrees. you will learn alot playing with all the scenarios on that site.
for a hunting bullet with high BC look at the hornady SST and that Accubond bullet. shooting a high BC bullet will give your .308 a great advantage and shoot flatter and farther. have fun....
