2012 Idaho whitetails ?
« on: December 28, 2011, 08:47:26 PM »
for those who have hunted ID for whitetails, a request for some regional direction please.
I'm planning on archery hunting for those ID whitetails in fall of 2012. But I've never hunted in ID.
trying for additional hunting time by adding non-resident seasons in other states now that my age/life allows more time in the field.

However I've been successful here in WA w/blacktails, muleys. But trying for an additional season in ID.
Hunted Oregon blacktails with archery successfully for a couple years before the outrageous non resident fee increases.
All my hunts are DIY and OTC tags. I just prefer it that way, funds wise, adventure and accomplishment of doing it on your own.
emails to ID dept fish & game have so far gone unanswered.

No specifics like honey holes...I'm just asking if any Hunting-Washington members from here have hunted whitetail on public ground in ID and perhaps some direction to general areas (such as National forest land) to start my planning, scouting now.
Two general areas I'm researching are north of Cour De Alene toward the town Bonner and south of I-90 east toward or around St Marie(?) thereabouts.

PMs are fine. thank you.

I typically spend most of my time over there for the last 12 years in units 8,8A,10,10A and we have always harvested nice bucks.
I've spent most of my life hunting and fishing....the rest has been wasted
